Why does YouTube ask for my phone number?
We use the phone number to send you a verification code. Using phone numbers to verify identity is one way to protect our community and combat abuse. To access advanced features, you must first complete phone verification. We’ll send a verification code by text or voice call to that phone number. To verify your channel, you’ll be asked to enter a phone number.
In the ”Sound effects” tab, use the filters and search bar to find sound effects for your videos. In the Music tab, use the filters and search bar to find tracks for your videos. In the Audio Library in YouTube Studio, you can find royalty-free production music and sound effects to use in your videos. In this case, you are not yet eligible to receive a share of the revenue.

How you can become eligible
You may not be sure which format to save your video as or you may get an ”invalid file format” error message when you’re uploading. Audio files can only be uploaded as extra languages for your video. If you’re in the YouTube Partner Program, you can monetize videos with music and sound effects from the Audio Library. Keep in mind that if your video uses music with a Creative Commons license, the attribution info is still required in your video’s description. If you’re using a track with a Creative Commons license, you must credit the artist in your video’s description.

YouTube doesn’t have a tool to upload audio files, but you can try other video editing software. You can’t upload audio files to create a YouTube video.
